Mustangs take the sting out of Blue Jackets, 51 - 26

Leading by 7 points at the half, Edgewood really clamped down on defense --allowing only nine second-half points -- and pulled away to a comfortable 51 -26 win over visiting Mitchell on Senior night. Prior to the game, the Mustangs honored senior captains Carter Hayden and Reece Roberts for their leadership both on and off the court and for being great teammates over the last 4 years. For the game, 9 different Edgewood players reached the scoring column, led by Caden Jones with 14. In addition, Karson Gladhill scored 8 points, Luke Druckrey had 7, and AJ Norris and Evan Jacobs scored 5 each. Finally, Dylan Wickens and Carter Hayden both scored 4 points, and Reece Roberts and Eli Lirot had 2 points apiece to complete the scoring. Jones also led the rebounding effort, completing a double-double with 10 boards, while Gladhill had 6 and Jacobs grabbed 5. Norris had 4 assists, while Jacobs and Druckrey had 3 each, and Norris and Jacobs also had 2 steals apiece to lead those categories for the Mustangs. Edgewood has a quick turnaround as they host Indianapolis Washington on Saturday night.
