Edgewood improved to 4 - 2 on the season and 3 -1 in Western Indiana Conference play with an exciting 63 - 62 win at Sullivan. The Mustangs jumped out in front of the Arrows early, and led by 12 late in the 3rd quarter, but then had a rash of turnovers that led to a scoring flurry by Sullivan that put Edgewood in a 5 point hole early in the 4th period. However, clutch baskets by Owen McGovern and AJ Norris and a trio of 3-pointers by Caden Jones lifted the Mustangs to victory. Edgewood was led by Jones and Kam Ranard who had 17 points each - with Ranard getting the Mustangs off to a fast start by scoring 8 points in the first quarter, and Jones closing the game out with 10 in the 4th. In addition, Will Inman scored 8 points, Carson Huttenlocker had 6, Carl Norris scored 5, and Nolan Reynolds had 4. Finally, Owen McGovern, AJ Norris, and Reece Roberts each had 2 points to complete the scoring. Ranard also pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, and McGovern added 6 boards and passed out 5 assists, as did AJ Norris to lead Edgewood in those categories. The Mustangs are back in action on Thursday, December 26 when they open play in the Wabash Valley Tournament against Northview at 11:30 AM.
