JV Mustangs ride defense to victory at Orleans

By Chuck Souder | Feb 15, 2025 11:16 PM

A stingy defense allowed the Edgewood JV to overcome a poor shooting night and come away with a hard-fought 29 - 24 win at Orleans. The Mustangs held the Bulldogs to only 23% from the field and made just enough shots of their own to secure the win. Carter Hayden led Edgewood with 9 points and 9 rebounds, while Jack Ripley added two big 3-point baskets for 6 points. Finally, Dylan Wickens, Aiden Bing and Henry Norris each scored 4 points and Evan Jacobs had 2 to complete the scoring for the Mustangs. In addition to Hayden's 9 boards, Norris grabbed 5 and Jacobs had 4 as Edgewood did a good job limiting their hosts to only one shot the vast majority of the time. The JV Mustangs are back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Northview.
